And I'm finally back in working order!! Finally! I have no clue what he did but everything works again. There is still no picture though. Not because I can't but because I am sick. We have had the flu rip through our house this last week and I'm still not up to snuff yet. I don't do sick well though. Even though I feel like death warmed over I just can't relax so I've been busy with the sewing machine. I finished a quilt flimsy (just the top of a quilt) Tuesday and will be able to finish another one tomorrow or Saturday. I love them both and can't wait to be able to use them. I'm hoping that next week I'll be able to get the actual quilting done on at least one. Now that my head is pounding I'm going to bed. I've got a busy day tomorrow.

Here is a link to my latest work. Hansell Photography

and it will be awhile longer. Something has happened and I can’t upload photos. What good is a photo blog without photos? Exactly! I’ll get my husband on this since what I’ve tried hasn’t worked. Until then my work can be seen at http://www.hansellphotography.com. Ha! I’m not even able to add links…

Last Friday morning I got to go to the state football game for Fremont-Mills. I had so much fun watching these boys play this year. However I don’t think the Murray fans had too much fun watching these boys play their best… I do have to have to say a huge congratulations to Murray for making it to this game though. That is quite an accomplishment and I’m sure if they played any other team it would have been a fair match but FM just bowled over everybody this season.

I wore my FM shirt to the store and got asked about the game… you know "The GAME"… It was a great game! I like that the UNI-Dome is only a little over an hour from my house so I could go to these games without making it an overnight trip. I mean, really, I went and had breakfast with my son, Mason, before heading to the game.

So without further ado enjoy the pictures…

I really wonder what the other teams boys were thinking as they were walking up to ours…

 The Seniors!!

My niece, Morgan, and her friend, Katie. We orginally took this photo with them facing the field and the bleachers in the background but I had this sudden brainstorm and thought ‘why not get the field behind them and we will remember where this was 10 years from now’ So I had them turn around. I like this one better than the others….

I took this photo because of the texting law enforcement officer. I’m pretty sure he was texting the score because he was kinda chuckling while texting. It wasn’t until I got home that I noticed the coaches hugging in the background….

Last Friday afternoon, Michael stopped out to indulge his mother and get his senior pictures taken. To say he was not into getting his picture taken is a huge understatement…  Michael is a soon-to-be grad of Webster City High School Class of 2012. We rushed through his session so that he could make it to the football game that night. Oh, to be a highschooler again…

Thank you for indulging your mom and letting me take your pics! Good luck with your after high school plans!

Over Michael’s shoulder you can a fuzzy brush pile that is almost ready for burning… As we were walking up to it he says, "Can we light it?". Everyone that sees this pile asks the same question! I told him I would call him when we get ready to ‘light’ it. It has to be a lot bigger than that before we start that fire!!

I’m sure this will be Michael’s favorite. Guys always like to cover their face…

I’m sure his favorite part of the whole thing was at the end when I put my camera away and we stood in the driveway talking to my husband as he was changing tires and rims on his trailer. I can’t say as that I can blame him. My husband was taking tires off of rims and putting them on new rims which is rather interesting to watch. I know I’m a photographer but I would rather watch anyone do what my husband was doing than have my own picture taken. Michael missed the best part of the tire changing anyways. Right before Michael arrived my husband almost ripped his thumb nail off. He’d only been working about 3 minutes when one of his tools came back and snagged his nail while he was trying to wrestle it out from between the tire and the rim. Don’t worry I brought it up!

My niece Morgan. I love this girl to death!! Everytime I see her we take some crazy pics and then she spends the next 6 weeks or so bugging me to put them on FaceBook… She is the typical teenager… You know 14 going on 30!

A couple of weeks ago I met up with a friend and took some relaxed photos of her little guy. I couldn’t believe how tiny he was! We had a great time. I can’t say as much for little baby J. He didn’t want to sleep and wanted to eat the whole time I was there but I think we managed to get some good shots.

Congrats again LeighAnn and Jesse!! He is truely just precious!

While walking across the yard I almost stepped on this little guy… er, girl… Anyways, I almost stepped on it. As I was leaned down to take a closer look at it my son, Mason, came over and he was going to step on it. I quickly stopped him and said ‘No! We don’t step on little bugs like that. Can you tell me what we do?’ He gave me a little look and said, ’Take picture!’ Does that kid know me or what?

Our yard is brown and dieing thanks to the rain missing us so much in the latter parts of July and August. Therefore our yard is full of praying mantis and grasshoppers. Oh, and spiders but I’d rather not think about that…

It’s just me today. No pictures today.

My son, Mason, started preschool yesterday. I don’t know how to feel about that. I am excited he is gone for a couple of hours everyday ,5 hours to be exact, but sad that he is growing up. Not to mention the crimp that puts on my traveling. I’m sure it will be good for him as he is rather attached to me. I know! Hard to believe that he would become attached to his mother, best friend, playmate… I find myself not knowing what to do with myself. I keep checking the clock because I don’t have the tv on so I’m not real sure what time it actually. I’m sure one of these days I’ll be tuning in at 10:30 to watch Word World just because I miss it. Guaranteed that won’t be today. I also didn’t realize how long 5 hours actually is… I’ve done everything today that I usually don’t have done until 1 or so and it is only 10:20… I’m sure I can find something to fill my time so don’t worry!

I just thought I would complain a little today. Seeing as how no one wants to listen to me complain I thought ‘oh, but they’ll read it…’. I am sure I am not alone in feeling this way and no that doesn’t mean it is time for #2!

I grew up very near Sidney Iowa also better known as Rodeo Town USA… I try to go every year even though it is bound to be hot. As in OMG-what-I-wouldn’t-do-for-some-snow-right-now-HOT! Mason really enjoyed the rodeo this year which I was happy to see. Unfortuntely he is still on a camera strike. So there are no photos of him. Well there are but they are of the back of his head or of his profile. I love him to pieces but I can’t wait until he is over this phase!

Here are just a couple of the photos I took that night…

Every year during grand entry they honor the soliders who have served, are serving, have fallen and on this night those local soldiers who have recently come home. These men deserve so much more than the few seconds of applause they receive.

I still can’t believe anyone would willingly get on the back of a crazy bull! I have no clue how these bull riders walk the next day. I had problems and all I did was sit in the stands.

I’m not real sure who’s idea it was to bring in the motorcycle jumpers… But I guess they were entertaining if you are into that sort of thing. Personally I would rather have seen more bull riding…

I am praying my son never wants to try either of these sports out… I’m thinking a nice quiet sport… like baseball… or better yet, chess…
