About Laura

I was born and raised in a small town in the middle of the Heartland. My husband I met at the county fair while he was visiting his grandparents for the summer, oh so many years ago. Since then I have spent many, many, many hours on the road in-between the two. We got married in June of 2000. Where has all the time gone? Seems like yesterday we were at the county fair waiting out the rain in the cow barn…

Over the years I have worked many different jobs. From working at a meat packing plant which was an experience in itself and not one I would trade for the world. Being a fresh high school graduate immersed in a different culture with a different language, literally a different language, to being a cashier at a Casey’s General Store convenience store, to being an office gal at a automotive repair establishment, Redling Repair, Inc., to accounts payables with a dental supply company, Patterson Logistics, to my most recent venture of being a stay at home mom. If you were to ask my husband I also have a photography business, Hansell Photography, but I count that more as a hobby. A very fun hobby!

I LOVE being a stay at home mom!! While my child and husband are great sources of aggravation they are also great sources of joy. There is nothing more satisfying than watching my son grow and learn. I am always at the ready to read a book, play, kiss a boo-boo, or dial 911 should my husband home improvement adventures get out of hand. As of yet I have not had to dial 911 yet but I know the day is coming being the wife of a mechanical engineer who thinks he can do anything with a how-to book as a teacher… I understand my husband spent 4 years in college and graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering but I remember more video games than studying… Again feels like yesterday…

My photos can also be seen at Neck Deep in Chaos. They are easy to spot because they are the properly lit and in focus ones. All the others were taken by my husband. He does have a way with telling a story though.

This blog is an accurate representation of my every day. I figured what better way to improve my photography and capture the year than to force myself to take a photo every day. We have good and bad days here and they are all represented. You can tell the main difference in the subject matter I choose. I’ll just let you be the judge as to whether we were having a good day or a bad day though.

Comments are encouraged. After all I am the mom to a 2 and a half year old so a little adult conversation is always welcome. Any requests for exif data can be left in the comments or emailed to me at laura@picturemyeveryday.com.

I hope you enjoy this blog as much as I enjoy making it. My goal is to make a coffee table book at the end of the year.

Prints are available for purchase just contact me and we can discuss terms and conditions. Don’t let that sound scary it just means that I’ll be ordering the print instead of giving out a digital file because I don’t want to see my images on the side of a bus as some other kind of advertising without proper credit and compensation.
