I can’t wait for these hanging tomatos to turn red…
Hard to believe just 4 summers ago you couldn’t have paid me enough to eat tomatos…

Why I took a picture of my fabric in the dryer I will never know… I do know that these are the only photos I took on this day…
Six photos of fabric in the dryer.
How boring am I?

We had a wind storm come through over night. You’ll notice how long my grass is. We have gotten nothing but rain and the yard hasn’t been dry enough to mow for a couple of weeks…

This horrible snake was found in my house… In. My. House!! Is there anything worse than finding something like a snake in your house???
So, we had just gotten done with lunch and I was walking back to the kitchen to put stuff away, I was walking through the dining room into the kitchen when out of the corner of my eye I see this snake along the wall. (I swear I have like super hero vision. You know the kind where it looks like an ordinary scene and then the super hero will zero in on one thing and it makes it bigger and more in focus…) I know craZy how well I can spot these little rascals.
So naturally after seeing this unwelcome little visitor I alert my ever loving husband. He immediatly jumps in to see about getting this intruder back outside. He automatically tries to downplay how big it is by saying "oh, it’s just a little one…" and then in the same breath he says, "… I hope it doesn’t bite me in the hole in my glove…"
Just in case you’re wondering, there is no other phrase that will get your wife in a snit than that!
After finally getting it corraled into two of my tea pitchers, that I will never use or allow in my house again, we finally got it outside. We take it down to the end of the drive way and let nature take it’s course. You know, survival of the fittest. Well that snake was no match for that little blue heeler we keep around.
Only after the poor snake was dead did my husband admit that it was a fairly big snake.
I did not bother to ask where it got in at. I don’t want to know and would much rather pretend that this whole thing never NEVER happened.
(disclaimer: This snake was not a docile little snake. He was aggressive. My dog would not have gone after it if it hadn’t been. I’d never seen another snake charge and strick or really follow and strike like this one did.)

My beautiful flowers are finally blooming!!

It’s mid July and the weather is all hot and sticky and I volunteered to help two friends freeze sweet corn.
I am an idiot…
First, we have to go and pick the sweet corn.
We ended up picking about 15 5 gallon buckets of corn…
Second, we have to shuck the corn…
We got lucky this year and my friend, Julie, whos kitchen we destroyed, had her mom up and we all know moms are great. Always willing to pitch in and do the really gross jobs… We don’t usually get so lucky!
Third, we have to cook and then cut off all the corn from the cob. Then we have to try to get the corn into a ziploc baggie. We got lucky and got a gallon ziploc baggie per 5 gallon bucket.
We usually start around noon and I think we got home around 10. I felt so bad leaving Julie with a totally trashed kitchen…. lol…

I love the view from the end of my driveway!! I also love sunsets… I’m sure you’ve noticed that already though.

Mason loves to go to town and play at the ‘fun’.
All I remember is that it was hot… Really HOT!

I don’t have to drive far to get a great view. I don’t even remember where this one was taken from…

I haven’t had time to go to the store lately to do an actual grocery run and so I found myself in Stratford picking up something for supper. This tower is right across the street from the little grocery store. I just couldn’t resist taking the photo.
