Just another frigid Iowa sunset.

It is so cold out that I’m almost afraid to put my eye up to the viewfinder afraid I’ll bring it back with only half the half lashes or something. My fingers are so cold that I can’t tell if I’ve pressed the shutter or not. 

I’m hoping spring comes early this year but I know it won’t. That just isn’t my luck…

Isn’t he just the cutest little crusted nose red dragon you’ve ever seen???

I sure think so.

My sunset photos didn’t turn out and as I was walking back to the car I looked down and saw all these little birdie foot prints.

I think they were pheasant but they don’t mind being called birdies…

This little boy watches his dad like a hawk…

My husband commonly just grabs a fork and whatever little dessert thing and takes them to the living room to eat while watching M*A*S*H.

Yes I said M*A*S*H. We own all 11 seasons……..

So this morning this little boy grabbed the blueberry creme cake and a plastic fork and took it to the living room to eat while watching Sesame Street.

I know how could anybody tell this cute little kid no!!

No sappy Valentines Picture here!! We just aren’t those kind of people… It really is just another day in our household.

This in no way cures the cabin fever I have been suffering from! It was cold, I got snow in my snow boot from walking through and over drifts, there was no cool green grass between my toes… I was bundled up in my pj pants, sweatshirt and snow boots. Coats are for sissys… I was only outside making sure my husband didn’t tip the tractor over backwards while plowing snow.

{Yes, Honey, I know that is unlikely to happen but I still worry. Just call me crazy.}

Can we say CABIN FEVER!!!

We try to get together with friends a couple times a month. Weather permitting that is… This night the weather cooperated and we enjoyed a nice night out of the house.

We always play some kind of game. We usually stick to cards but this night we play Uno Attack and Farkle. I won Farkle!! I didn’t win Uno. I never win Uno…

This little boy is also wanting some spring weather….

I am so tired of all the snow!! I am more than ready for some color outside. Green grass, blue skies, pink flowers, yellow flowers, red flowers, purple flowers, blue tree swings, green leaves… The only white I want to see outside is from the little puffy clouds that dot the bright blue sky.

Normally I wouldn’t ever dream about getting out in weather like this. Unfortunately as a parent I don’t get to pick when my child will get sick and need to go to the doctor.

This was on the way to town. The wind was blowing but very light. The drive home was interesting with all kinds of little drifts covering the roads because the wind really picked up. I sit back and close my eyes and just let my husband handle the driving.

On the upside though we only have 4 weeks left of this kind of weather hopefully…
